Personal Growth & Balance

Why I head into nature every month (and what that has to do with my work)

Every month I make time to head into nature. No strategy, no agenda, no phone demanding attention. Just quiet, space and movement.

For those who know me from the sales world, that might sound contradictory. That world runs on pace, on sharpness, on always being "on." But that's exactly why that monthly reset isn't a luxury for me. It's a necessity. You can't stay sharp, creative and genuinely present for clients and colleagues if you run yourself empty. Sooner or later that shows up in your work: less patience, less sharpness, less real connection.

Nature forces me to slow down. And it's precisely in that slowing down that the best insights surface: solutions to a problem I'd been stuck on for days, or simply the realisation that something wasn't actually urgent. It's no coincidence that some of my best decisions came during a walk, far from any screen.

At Elevate Group we believe that sustainable growth, for a business but also for the people behind it, needs that same balance. Going full throttle works, until it doesn't. Whoever doesn't recharge their own battery can't keep fuelling anyone else's either.

Takeaway: growth isn't a straight line of working ever harder. Sometimes the most productive step is simply: doing nothing for a while.
